Direct Etherification of Alkyl Halides by Sodium Hydride in the Presence of N,N-Dimethylformamide Direct Etherification of Alkyl Halides
SYNLETT 2007, No. 17, pp 2695–269816.10.2007 Advanced online publication: 25.09.2007 DOI: 10.1055/s-2007-991068; Art ID: U07007ST © Georg Thieme Verlag Stuttgart · New York Abstract: A novel synthetic method for the preparation of various alkyl ethers is described. The reaction between alkyl halides and sodium hydride in the presence of N,N-dimethylformamide afforded the corresponding symmetric...
متن کاملPalladium-catalyzed intermolecular Heck reaction of alkyl halides.
Intermolecular Heck reaction of common alkyl halides, a longstanding problem in palladium catalysis, is realized with a simple Pd/dppf catalyst. Both primary and secondary alkyl halides are suitable for coupling with aromatic olefins. Single electron transfer from (dppf)Pd(0) to alkyl halide initiated the catalytic cycle and gave alkyl radicals.
متن کاملNickel-catalyzed, sodium iodide-promoted reductive dimerization of alkyl halides, alkyl pseudohalides, and allylic acetates.
The first general method for the reductive dimerization of alkyl halides, alkyl mesylates, alkyl trifluoroacetates, and allylic acetates is reported which proceeds with low catalyst loading (0.5 to 5 mol%), generally high yields (80% ave yield), and good functional-group tolerance.
متن کاملSelf-assembly of medium-chain alkyl monoglucosides in ammonium sulfate solutions with poly(ethylene glycol).
We study the phase behavior and microstructure of alkyl-beta-monoglucosides with intermediate chain lengths (octyl- and nonyl-beta-glucoside) in aqueous solutions containing ammonium sulfate and poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG). When the glucoside surfactants are mixed with PEG of molecular weight 3350 or larger, two different phase transitions are observed in the temperature range 0-100 degrees C, ...
